Taiwan 2016

A/N: Actually wrote this post back in December, but didn’t have the chance to edit / upload photos until now 😅 Enjoy.. Had a ton of fun in Taiwan. Visiting as a tourist is a whole ‘nother experience, especially when going with someone who’s never been. I’ve gone back multiple times now, often for family related activities, and typically for longer durations. Since I don’t go back often, there’s always a big gap in changes upon returning. Technology is an obvious one, though I only went back...

Hair Update

I thought I’d write this up since my hair had been dark brown for over a year. I dyed my hair to a bright red ombre over Labor Day weekend at Uniq Salon, similar to the shade I had back in Winter 2015, but this time my ombre started higher up, making it higher maintenance. Since my hair was so dark before hand, I needed to bleach it. This shade only lasted a month before it faded into the orangey shade that it bleached to initially. I was a bit disappointed as I spent almost $300 getting the...

Hong Kong Part 2

continued from http://aimango.me/post/hong-kong Day 3: we decided to do some trips outside the city and went to Stanley, which is south of the island. I didn’t expect much from Ocean Park, I thought it was a normal theme park. It was pretty quiet when we arrived and saw the first few exhibits with the aquarium a...

Hong Kong!

We recently returned from a 9 day trip to HK and Taipei. We meant to go in February of next year, but when searching for a US Thanksgiving getaway, the flight prices were quite reasonable ($660 USD roundtrip, no layovers), plus it was supposed to be the best time of year to go to these destinations weather-wise. We went through United, so had the pleasure of waiting at the SFO Amex Centurion Lounge prior to our flight (located at Terminal 3). I had visited a few times before, first time fo...

10 hours a week

I have tried to write this blog post a couple times in different formats, instead I will keep it short and more personal, rather than speaking for a general audience. For those unaware, I currently live in SF but work in the Peninsula. The commute is on average 60-70m one way (around 10-11 hours a week). I've spent so long on this daily commute that I have thought deeply about time wasted rather than enjoyment gained from living in this city. I gained some passive hobbies while commuting: I...
